Origami Fox Card

Have you ever considered using origami shapes in your paper crafting projects? I have been playing with this idea for a little while. Here is a shape I made for you to see what I mean - a cute little Origami Fox! I made him and added him to a card for a birthday, but he is also a good embellishment for a scrapbook page, right?

You can read about how I made him on PaperCraftCentral.com

Here are the supplies I used to make my card:

  • Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Old Olive cardstock
  • Sweet Sugarplum, Old Olive, Basic Black ink
  • Butterfly Basics stamp set
  • Playful Palette dsp
  • Layering Ovals Framelits
  • Peekaboo Peach ruched ribbon
  • Stamparatus
  • Big Shot
  • Bone Folder
  • Basic Blavk Stampin' Write! Marker
  • Tombow, Glue Dots, Fast Fuse, Stampin' Dimensional Adhesives
If you make one of these and want to mail it, I suggest turning it inside out before putting it in your envelope. That way you will protect your little fox a bt better and he will arrive safely :) He does wind up being slightly more three dimensional than usual.

Easter is Coming!

I've had a few crafting sessions in the caravan over the last few weeks and Easter was definitely on my mind, since it is coming up so quickly. I usually make some special cards for special family members, and was really amazed at how easy it was to make a background for this card with my new Brushos from Stampin' Up! and my Swirly Bird stamp set:

See those eggs on either side of the card? I made those too with my Sale-A-Bration designer series paper, Painted with Love!

They are quick and easy to make, and you can add them as pop up surprises inside a card.

If you would like to know how to make these projects and get a few other Easter craft ideas, do go to my PaperCraftCentral site to see more.

There's still a little bit of time left to earn some free products with Sale-A-Bration. Check out the Specials to see how to do that and enjoy some Stampin' rewards till March 31st.

Blessings at Easter 😊

Fast Fuse is Retiring!

Did you know that Stampin' Up! is not going to restock Fast Fuse or its refills once current supplies run out? 😮 It's true! Here's what they said about it:

“While there is still inventory available in the South Pacific, it is available only while supplies last. Once the current inventory of Fast Fuse applicators and refills has been used up, we will not be re-ordering.”

It seems there is a supply issue with the Fast Fuse manufacturer. If it cannot be obtained, I can understand why it would need to be discontinued. It certainly won't be offered in the new annual catalogue coming out in June.

The good news is, you can still order some now, but I don't know how long supplies will last. You can order it from me by clicking on this link to the order page at SusanSalutations.

The Stamparatus!

Have you heard about the Stamparatus? It's a new papercrafting tool that can expand your rubber or photopolymer stamping techniques quite a bit! It is so new, it is not generally available till June 2018, but some people were able to order one to be posted out in advance. The window of opportunity to do that has now passed, and no new orders can be accepted till June 2018. Let me know if you want one of these and I will send you a reminder.

I was actually part of a global team who was consulted by Stampin' Up! about the development of this new tool, so as a reward, I was allowed to order and receive mine before other groups could. Wasn't that nice of Stampin' Up!?

I love it and am using it all the time, to make sure my stamping is taken up a notch and to save time etc,

You can read what I have found about it by going to a page on PaperCraftCentral. I will add some new projects soon too, but here are a couple of images I created with it already using the new Lots of Lavender stamp set, a reward option during Sale-A-Bration when you spend $90 on product:

Happy Stampin'!

Christmas 2017

As I write this, we are still on the road in a caravan, doing the Big Lap around Australia. It is a fascinating thing to do and we are taking our time, staying a week here and a week there, till we are ready to move on to the next place. Caravan crafting has been less frequent than I would like, especially when we are free camping without power (so no heat tool, glue gun etc can be used) and water (so messy paint/inking and other things needing water cleanup are not a good idea). Still, I have been Christmas crafting! In this caravan!

I got to craft with Sharon in Qld when we stopped at her house awhile, which was fantastic, but after that I have not met up with many other papercrafters. 🤔 There was that lovely afternoon we crafted in the caravan making birthday cards, Chloe and Maddie, in the NT. Now I am in WA! I do hope to meet up with some more crafters pretty soon down south of Perth. Look out, Mandy!😁

So what have I been doing?

I took some Stampin' Up! kits with me this time, so I have had all the supplies and a good deal of the work packaged for me ☺ What a great idea these kits are for traveling crafters!

They are also good for people who are just starting out, building up their supplies and not wanting to make a huge outlay all at once.

They are great for beginning crafters too. The design work is lovely.

So, what have I been making?

1. Christmas cards!

One day I sat down with the Watercolour Christmas Project Kit. I had purchased the A Watercolour Christmas stamp set before I left home and had some ink and adhesive with me. I simply needed my paper snips, bone folder and a place to work and I was set. There are four designs in the kit, making 20 cards altogether. What a quick and fun project this was! I got them all done in an afternoon. Here are the four designs:

Aren't they cute? Easy to make, easy to mail, AND they come with gold foil lined envelopes too.

I then got busy on my own design of CAS (clean and simple) cards  to make in bulk. Armed with some of this pretty designer series paper from the Quilted Christmas bundle....

And the Wise Men from Afar stamp set, plus some Quilted Christmas ribbon and some die cuts for the sentiments which I made altogether, I made 15 cards with the same basic design. I stamped images directly on the dp and added ribbon, then popped up the layered sentiments. Afterward I added a single star sequin above the palm trees. Here's a couple of cards so can see how they turned out:

I thought they were pretty cute, and each one had a different background paper. I didn't have to repeat any one pattern at all.

2. Christmas Decorations!

Then I decided to make some decorations for the caravan. Now you cannot have a Christmas Tree in a caravan very easily. But you can make room for a banner and a string of lights! I had the Be Merry tag Kit for that! I didn't want tags though as our family and friends decided no presents were very practical to send to someone in a caravan, and also hard for someone in a caravan to gather and send, SO, I turned them into a banner. Here are the individual tags:

And here are all 12 made into a banner, with a string of lights shining over the top of them:

I really like them 😁

I hope your December is full of crafty fun like mine has been so far!
